The GO FAIR International Support and Coordination Office (GFISCO) welcomes Dr Laurent Crouzet from the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation as new Strategic Director of the GO FAIR initiative. Laurent is replacing Prof Patrick Garda, who served as director of the French GO FAIR office since its creation and has now retired. The GFISCO congratulates Patrick on his retirement and is looking forward to working together with Laurent.
Laurent is currently Head of the Digital Services and Infrastructures Department at the General Directorate for Research and Innovation of the French Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation. He is in charge of the strategy on High Performance Computing (HPC) and e-Infrastructures. He is also the French representative in the EuroHPC Governing Board and in the EOSC Governing Board, and he serves as French delegate to the European e-Infrastructures Reflection Group (e-IRG).
Before joining the French Ministry for Research, Laurent was in charge of coordinating the HPC activities of the Physical Science Division of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). He has first served in the Defense Division of CEA, and he has joined the Physical Science Division in 2006 as an Assistant to the Director in charge of HPC and computing sciences.
Laurent holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics as well as a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics with a “Parallel Computing” mention.
